Founder

TYANTHONY DAVIS is the founder of Vox Collegiate.  He is the product of public education, born and raised in Fresno, California, where he witnessed first-hand the disparity between excellent schools and struggling schools, and the life-altering impact that accompanies it.  As a teacher, he lived by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and approached his commitment to his students with the "fierce urgency of now."

We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there "is" such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

He carries out the work of growing Vox Collegiate with stubborn optimism, understanding that the substantial undertaking of sustaining a successful school. However, regardless the challenge, he knows that every day that children spend in a school where they are not educated is a day that they don't get back.

TyAnthony began his career in education teaching fourth grade in Las Vegas, NV. Two years later, he became a Teach For America ("TFA") Corps member advisor, leading professional development for new TFA Corps members.  After teaching in Las Vegas, Mr. Davis attended Harvard Law School.  While at Harvard, he worked as a Resident Tutor, serving as the primary academic advisor for a cohort of sophomore students.  After graduating law school, he worked as a corporate securities associate at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, LLP in Los Angeles. While in law school and during his time as a lawyer, Mr. Davis worked part-time as a consultant for a curriculum development company, supporting the development of the CCSS-aligned EngageNY curriculum sponsored by the State of New York. Mr. Davis was part of the 2016 Building Excellent Schools Fellowship, a rigorous, yearlong, comprehensive training program in urban charter school creation and leadership.
