We are a team of readers at Vox Collegiate. Literacy is the backbone of all of the learning that will occur at our school and a school uniform signifies our shared community. A personal set of novels for each student to take notes in, take home, and to enjoy is critical to our success in developing life long readers.
Our team uniform may be out of financial reach for some families. That is why our school seeks to provide every student with a full school uniform, free of charge. Your donation can help support one of our students to have a full uniform and their individual novels for the year.
Because we recognize the need to teach our students how to properly use technology as a means of communication and learning, we use technology every day. Additionally, our classrooms will employ a blended learning model where students rotate from computer-based individualized learning programs to small group targeted instruction, learning at their zone of proximal development.
We believe that learning should extend outside the classroom - that is why field trips are so essential. It is imperative that students get real world experiences that expose them to the world and their potential to make an impact.
The education at Vox Collegiate is not just about retention of facts and development of skills, but about using knowledge, facts, and skills to create and innovate. Structured class time to explore and problem solve around science, engineering, and robotics will help our students become young innovators.
Literacy – the ability to read, write, and speak with clarity and insight - will open doors to all areas of study and will provide students with the necessary foundation to follow their passions and reach their fullest potential. To engage students as readers, we must offer them a full world of literature - from classic novels and autobiographies to comic books and movie scripts.
We believe science education should be prioritized and allow for hands-on discovery and experimentation. We seek to provide our students with the resources to ensure that this type of learning happens every day, engaging their interests in the world in which they live and how it works.
Exploration and discovery are the keys to innovation. It is crucial to our success as a school that all students have access to structured exploration in science, robotics, and engineers. This time is an opportunity for them to unlock their creativity and apply their problem solving skills.
At Vox Collegiate, we embrace the use of technology to enhance instruction and ensure that our students are prepared as 21st century learners. Our ability to use technology is tremendously strengthened if we can guarantee that every child has access to a computer at all times.
